Skating for Success Program

The Skating for Success Program is a TNO initiative that strives to create sustainable opportunities for kids from low-income households to engage in skating and ice hockey within the Thorncliffe & Flemingdon Park areas. Your donation means the youth in your community can learn the basics of our national sport in a supportive environment where they can make new friends, have fun, and develop their self-esteem, confidence, and leadership skills.

TNO makes a direct impact

  • The TNO hockey program is an amazing opportunity for kids who otherwise would not be able to afford to play hockey to get on the ice. From equipment, to instructors, this program helped my kids build confidence and friendships they would never have been able to get otherwise. Thank you TNO for all you do!

    - Hockey Dad & Volunteer
  • This is amazing! I cannot commend TNO enough for being so committed to the community. Thank you so much for arranging this, especially considering the fact that we are in a pandemic situation and things change on the daily. Ismail, your dedication to the sport and to the kids is beyond any words I could say here. I always get a chuckle out of your well thought out emails and mention them to Yakub. He’s just stoked to get back on the ice!

    - Hockey Mom, Community Member
  • Your contribution has the power to help the diverse youth in your community access a Canadian sport that’s normally too expensive for low-income families. With your support, we’re able to give kids skating lessons and ice hockey activities so they can stay active in a safe and positive environment. Whether it be a one-time gift or a monthly donation, every contribution counts.
  • TNO offers many volunteer opportunities for our ice hockey programs, whether you have one hour or more of time to donate. There are many different positions to choose from, including on-ice coaches, assistant coaches, front-door admin support, equipment assistants, and more! If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to support the youth in your community, you’re in the right place.
